Assignment Task:

Purpose- A Case study that aimed to examine the understanding of the decision-making process will be provided to the student. The student is required to apply lecture material taught in week 1 to week 6 by writing an individual essay.

The essay should about employ the knowledge you know about DSS and psychology of decision making. 

DESCRIPTION- Many people with disabilities fear they will lose essential benefits if they go to work. Indeed, programs such as Housing Rent Supplements, Disability Insurance, Medicare, Food Stamps, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families have associated benefits that disappear or are significantly reduced when a beneficiary’s income or resources rise beyond thresholds that are difficult to predict.

In a recent data released by the Social Security Administration (SSA), nearly 8.5 million working-age citizens receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and/or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI). Approximately 9% of 18–64-year-old SSI recipients receive earnings and 55% of those working make under $200 a month. Many unemployed people with disabilities desire to work but didn’t. Furthermore, recent research has shown that even people with the most severe disabilities can work when given appropriate support and accommodations, and when their motivation to work is not muted by fear.

In response to difficulties associated with transitioning people with disabilities to work, the Employment Support Institute (ESI) at Virginia Commonwealth University, through funding from the SSA and others, designed and developed the WorkWORLD Decision-Support System in order to help disabled people to find work.

Base on the Case study above please answer and include the doings of the following questions:

1. Do many people with disabilities fear in the case study has anything to do with managerial level and decision environments? If yes, please explain how. If no, please state why you think contributed the fear.
2. Consider yourself as a disable person, please employ different mode of decision making, to justify the decision of stay unemployed.
3. Consider yourself as government organisation, please employ different mode of decision making, to convenience people with disability to work. Note: You should address the flaws in human decision-making in this part of your answer.
4. Analysis Work WORLD Decision-Support System and explain how it can help decision-making process. 

 The assessment should answer all these questions-

1. Does the student demonstrate understanding of the heterogeneous nature of the decision-making activity across different managerial levels and decision environments within organisations? 

2. Does the student able to apply different decision models to the decision making process?

3. Does the student demonstrate understand how humans make decisions – individually, in a group or within a whole-of-organisation context?

4. Does the student able to recognize that humans have a number of flaws in their decision-making and understand what responses are necessary to address these flaws?
