Learning outcome:
Students will construct a research question and outline a proposed research methodology to address this question. This assessment requires students to demonstrate evolving skills in research study development. 

Purpose Statement: 
To construct a research question with an associated developing understanding of research methods.  This is then clearly communicated to peers and academic staff. 

Task Description:
Each student is required to prepare and present a 5-minute oral presentation about their topic, research question and proposed methodology. In the presentation, students are required to:

1.    Briefly describe the background to the research topic

•     Identify the gap in the evidence/ knowledge.

2.    State the research question.

•     use either PICOT or SPIDER framework
•     specify the outcome of interest.

3.    Outline the methodological approach you propose to address the study question. Including:

•    Study design
•    Sample 
•    Data source and collection method
•    Data analysis

The schedule for presentation day will be confirmed at the beginning of semester. There will be scheduled sessions throughout the day. You are required to attend for the entirety of the session in which you are presenting. 
To facilitate preparation for presentation day you are to submit a presentation via CANVAS.
During the presentation day you will be required to give each of your peer’s feedback on their presentation, via an online or written proforma.
Your subject coordinators will be present and other members of the academic staff will be invited to attend the day.
