As the whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows, my parents have always been the prime pillars of my educational growth years as well as my source of inspiration and self-restraint. While my schooling I nearly blossomed in all my subjects by scoring 85% in 10th and 79% in 12th. Having an inclination towards Science and engineering, I chose mechanical engineering for my bachelor’s. I am an avid reader and passionate about learning new things and this curiosity led me to study about IT domain and cyber security specifically. And the depth of this field caught my attention and I found it very interesting and challenging. So I decided to pursue my career in Cyber security. I realized that to have career opportunities in this domain, I’ll have to expand my scope of knowledge and go over and beyond my curriculum of Mechanical engineering. Once I was certain to continue in this domain, I learned many computer languages Java, C++, C and Python. Python being the most popular and widely used programming languages in the world, fascinated me. I cleared my graduation with first class and got a placement opportunity in SUNKPO systems to start my career. Now it has been 4 years and to further in my career, I have to take education and thus I want to apply for a Master in Cyber Security and start the next leg of my journey. During my professional stints, I worked with multinational clients such as London Stock Exchange group, Reckitt Benckiser, and Carmax. My major job responsibilities in these projects were to secure the company’s applications and user data from unauthorized access and user administration.

\The more practical training I have undergone, the more I want to learn because there are still many applications, I am not well versed with which is hindering my growth. With the help of this transition, I want to move the trajectory of my career and start a new leg of my life. This course will not only develop the skillset in me, but it will also help to gain technical expertise and practical skills in identifying and critically evaluating vulnerabilities of and threats to the security and integrity of distributed systems, conducting and managing a comprehensive risk assessment of the distributed systems in a complex and unpredictable environment. I believe education is like a bridge between me and successful life. It’s not just about schooling and obtaining a degree, it is about the knowledge applied for improving the lives of others, with hard work and perseverance. Here in this course, I will be illuminating myself with the study of advanced topics including distributed systems security, information security, management and compliance, digital forensics, penetration testing, and cyber operations. Thus, I believe that a course in cybersecurity will really help me to synergize my knowledge of computer science with my passion and fascination with my subject providing me with quite a lot of subtle variations in my career options such as Forensic Expert Officer, Vulnerability Assessor etcetera.
